This dark comedy by Newcastle writer Lee Hall, probably best known for creating Billy Elliott, was staged at the 1999 Edinburgh Festival Fringe before transferring to London's West End.
Set in a dysfunctional northern household, Dad is a wheelchair-bound cripple who dreams of his life as an Elvis Presley Tribute Act. His wife has an insatiable appetite for sex, which can only be satisfied by the lodger. And then there's Jill, the fourteen year old daughter, who develops a strange relationship with the family's pet tortoise whilst trying to control her obsession to eat everything in sight.
